The following information was taken from a May 2022 survey of AmeriCorps members currently serving in the Central Texas region (Austin/San Marcos metro area). Members were asked to share information about how they found housing and roommates, what their monthly housing expenses are, and how they would rate their housing situation. The interactive map below can be filtered by zip code, price range (monthly rent per person), or living situation, and includes reviews and general info about each person’s living situation.

Housing Options

  • Foundation Communities is a local nonprofit that provides affordable apartment housing in high quality complexes throughout Austin. AmeriCorps members who reside at this site may be eligible for a discounted rate. You will have a higher chance of securing housing through Foundation Communities if you apply in pairs.
